Meet Jenny

Meet Jenny. Jenny has no legs Jenny is very old and lives most of her days on the streets of San Francisco. She is not a ghost but ghosts pass her everyday on the streets of San Francisco. They are the walking dead.

I stopped to talk to Jenny today and she looked up at me. What is your name she asked, until the muscle in her neck gave out and she had to put her head down.

“Barbara,” I said.

Oh, I had a daughter named Barbara she said before dozing off again. I touched her bony back, which was easy to do, as her bones stuck out in places where I didn’t know bones could stick out.

I walked the streets of San Francisco today after my radio interview on FCC Radio about Ronald Reagan who put Jenny and 9 other million people out on the streets and 40 million in poverty with his trickle down economics. Trump is doing the same again today. Reagan is the Hero of the Republican Party . . . hero of a criminal corporate gang. There is no other way to put it.

Tents were in places all over the city. This was once a city I loved. I don’t recognize this city any more and I could feel what seemed like a disease in the air – the worst kind. Apathy. It’s a mental illness. Maybe it spread after Reagan released the mentally ill from hospitals onto the streets infecting us all?

Lilycat of FCC Free Radio in San Francisco is interviewing me December 17. I promise the discussion will be educational, lively and inspiring. I look forward to talking about Reagan’s policies which mirror Trump’s today and how these policies have nearly taken down an entire planet in these last 30 years.

Reagan is the Hero of the Republican Party . . . be reminded. I aim to prove how Trump is right in one regard. . . fake media has been dominating the airwaves for over 30 years. Thank you, Trump, for bringing this to our attention!

My father stood up to Reagan in the 1981 union strike when we lost almost everything . . . so, I like to say my dad stood up to the worst president of the United States. I’ve got some heritage to uphold : ) Please support me while I voice some strong opinions about neoliberal policies, politics, energy, media, military, consumerism, masculinity and more . . . I’m sure I’ll be pushing buttons and I’ve never done this before! GULP! But I’m ready. This isn’t political for me. . . this is personal and I call it family business . . and it goes deep for me, over 35 years deep.

This book also encompasses how I dropped my entire life about four years ago, leaving my comfortable home with my husband and my two kids, to pursue two take back dreams that I lost as a child under Reagan . . . which is resulting in two first time films projects, one that is completed and available online with the world’s greatest oceanographer, Dr. Sylvia Earle, in Racing With Copepods (www.racingwithcopepods.com) and my new film, to be released next spring about the great Brazilian Guitarist Jose Neto, The Man Behind the White Guitar (www.themanbehindthewhiteguitar.com). The film includes Harry Belafonte, Steve Winwood and other international musicians, and it’s supported by Marin County foundations. This film aims to showcase the power of freedom, integrity and honesty through a musical story of an immigrant in the United States.

My new dream? Convert the Reagan Museum into a Global Climate Center and Political/Media/Big Business Propaganda Educational Center. It’s time Reagan, the Hero of the Republican Party, comes clean and I am more than happy to serve as the proverbial housecleaner. In fact, I view it as my patriotic duty.
